![]() Like… they’re friendly enough with outsiders, but when these outsiders start trying to get CLOSE, that’s when the barriers slam shut and they become cold and hostile. The Heart Pirates are deeply and automatically suspicious of anyone who isn’t a member of their crew. As far as they’re concerned, it’s them against the world, and the world can go burn in hell for all they care if it’s for the sake of even a single one of their precious crewmatesģ. They view each other as FAMILY, and they’d happily and unhesitatingly lay down their lives and dreams for each others’ sakes. In the same vein as the aforementioned headcanon, because everyone else rejected and despised them, the Heart Pirates only have each other. Jean Bart was a slave of the Celestial DragonsĪnd because all of them were abandoned and hated by the rest of the world, they experienced their first taste of happiness only when they joined the crew, and their lives became wonderful ever sinceĢ.And after they ran away, they were viewed as nothing more than ruffians and were disdained by everyone around them After their parents died, Penguin and Shachi were taken in by distant relatives who treated them like slaves.Since most people in the OP world don’t know about minks, Bepo was feared, hunted, and abused for being a talking bear.I mean… considering what we know in canon, I feel like this is pretty plausible. All of the Heart Pirates are, in some way or another, misfits and outcasts who were hated by the world and led terrible, loveless lives before they met/were saved by Law. ![]() I really, really love these goofy dorks, so I decided to post some of my headcanons about them:ġ. ![]()
